1. How To Convert Heic To JPG on mac
1.1. Use the Preview Application
Users can use AirDrop for Mac and use the Preview app on macOS to convert to JPEG. Note, this is only applicable for macOS High Sierra and above.
Accordingly, in the folder containing the HEIC images to be converted to JPG, select one or more images at the same time, then right-click and select Open With> Preview.app (default).
– In the Preview application interface, go to File> Export. For cases of converting images at the same time, select the images to transfer or you can use the key combination Command + A to select all open images on Preview, then select File> Export Selected Images.
-In the pop-up dialog box just displayed, select JPG in the Format drop-down menu, select the location you want to save in the Where section, and click Save. Adjust the quality as you like before clicking Save. You can then find the converted JPEG file in the location where you exported the HEIC file.
1.2. Using Automator
If macOS Preview does not satisfy you, you can also set up Automator (a tool that automates repetitive tasks) to “convert” HEIC to JPG more quickly and conveniently.
The process is quite simple, first, launch Automator in the Applications folder or use the Spotlight search tool (Command + Space) with the keyword “Automator”.
In the Automator interface that appears, select Quick Action and click Choose.
On the left side of the interface, enter the keyword “copy finder” into the search bar and drag and drop the Copy Finder Items into the right interface. Here, you can choose the folder you want to save the images after converting from HEIC to JPG.
Inside the Copy Finder Item dialog box, choose where you want to save the converted JPG files or leave it on the desktop by default.
Go back to the left interface, continue to enter the keyword “change type” in the search bar, and drag and drop the Change Type of Images item into the right interface. Here, change to JPEG in the drop-down menu.
Finally, go to File> Save, enter the name you want to display – such as Convert to JPG – then click Save to finish.
From now on, to convert the image, right-click the HEIC file (or other image standards such as PNG, ..) and select Quick Action> [name of the set option]. In addition, you can also apply the conversion to multiple HEIC images at the same time.
